How to Make a Smoothie
Sometimes I forget that not everybody knows how to make a smoothie and that I was also pretty apprehensive about trying it for the first time.
'How do you mean I can just blend up vegetables?' 'How much is a cup of spinach?' and 'What if I do something wrong?' were some of my questions.
I was encouraged by my friend Marcess who had been bringing a bright green drink into work every day. It had me so curious about what it tasted like, why she was drinking it, and how it helped her. She gave me her recipe, and one day I just did it - and NEVER looked back!!!
If you've been apprehensive about making your own smoothies, watch this video where I make a simple Chocolate Avocado Smoothie. It is truly pretty simple and you can hardly do anything wrong. Trust me! Just give it a go. If questions come up, let me know in the comments or just reply to this email.
Smoothies and all sorts of weight loss shakes have become the craze around the world. When buying one of these drinks elsewhere, use common sense when assessing whether it is healthy. Do you see real food going into the drink or powders and fruity syrup? Do you see an ingredient list posted? (Always ask for the ingredient list.) Does it taste like real fruit and veggies or like a milk shake with fruity pebbles? Use common sense.
Here is why I recommend you make your own smoothies:
You control what goes into them.
You can add in the veggies and fruit you like.
It is a lot cheaper.
So take a look at my video and give this Chocolate Avocado Smoothie a try. It's one of my favorite. The recipe is posted in the video comments.
